Aswan, Egypt Philae Temple, which was dismantled and reassembled on higher ground to prevent flooding due to the High Dam. Dedicated to the Goddess Isis, the temple was built over several hundred years duing the Roman period. (Egyptian temples were originally painted in bright colors. The colors have worn away over the years, except in a few instances illustrated later.)
